Eric's upbringing in a military family had a profound impact on his life. He was greatly influenced by his father's work as a Clinical and Neuropsychologist in the Air Force. Eric's personal experiences of facing health challenges, including leukemia and depression, gave him a deep understanding of the importance of mental health support.
In 2012, Eric founded The Veterans™ Connection, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans™ access their entitled benefits. He recognized the complexities that veterans™ faced in obtaining assistance and felt motivated to do more. Eric's health journey led him to discover the transformative power of the Ketogenic diet, which inspired him to help others optimize their well-being. He became a Certified Health Coach and Certified Ketogenic Coach, committing himself to empowering others to improve their health.
The COVID-19 pandemic heightened Eric's awareness of the rising suicide rates among veterans™ and first responders, leading to a refocus of The Veterans™ Connection on mental health and suicide prevention for these groups.
In 2021, Eric co-authored 'Boundless Success with Eric Ranks', which chronicles his health struggles and how he used his pain as a catalyst for supporting others. He is also a co-author of the international best-seller 'The Art of Connection,' both of which are available on Amazon.
